Evidence & Discovery
There is a large underlying story woven through Sol. It is not delivered as a single quest chain or a sequence of exposition screens. You uncover it by paying attention to the world itself.
The simulation keeps a real history of what your Captain has observed.
Current formal evidence enters from four source types. Repeated confirmation of the same knowledge increases its observation count rather than creating duplicate facts.
Some leads are created because separate facts finally fit together.
The current discovery system contains authored inference rules. They are evaluated when new evidence is written: if the Captain has learned the required facts, the game can record a new discovery lead and add the resulting knowledge to the Database. There is no background timer secretly handing out discoveries just for waiting.
New information can change the meaning of something you saw hours ago.
Formal evidence is only part of paying attention. Revisit old Database entries and location lore. Notice repeated names, manufacturers, historical references, unusual technology, and places that do not quite fit the story you thought you understood. The systems can recognize authored connections, but the larger interpretation is still yours.
You are meant to piece it together.
The manual will teach you how the discovery systems work, but it will not publish the answers. Exact chains, hidden relationships, locations, and solutions remain part of the game.
