Refining & Processing

Station processing turns raw feedstock into processed industrial material. Ore Refinery and Salvage Reclamation are separate station services, each with its own compatible process families, throughput, recovery, fees, and local facility identity.

Facility tier is not a universal “better station” ladder.Tier describes facility scale, while authored station specialization determines which process families are available and how well that facility handles them.

The ticket shows the real tradeoff before you commit.

The current station-processing ticket lists compatible processes, how much matching feedstock is stored locally, recovery percentage, throughput, and fee per unit. As you select amounts, it previews expected outputs, material loss, total facility fee, and completion time before the batch starts.

Compatible processThe facility must actually support the material's process family.
RecoveryDetermines how much selected feedstock survives as useful processed output rather than burn/loss.
ThroughputDetermines how quickly the selected batch can be processed.
Facility feeProcessing costs credits based on the selected material and station service.
Persistent batchOnce started, the station job continues while you leave and do something else.
Local custodyInputs come from that station's storage and completed outputs return to that same station.

Processing is part of regional logistics.

A station's process-family support, throughput, recovery, fees, and surrounding resource economy determine what it is good at. That creates real reasons to move feedstock between regions instead of processing everything at the nearest station.
