Organizations

Organizations are persistent simulation actors rather than lore-only labels. They can operate stations and markets, field combat assets and sites, gate some contracts or docking access by standing, manufacture recognizable technology, and become subjects in your Captain's evidence and history.

Your relationship is history, not reputation XP.Standing is derived from concrete recorded interactions—supplying organization demand, purchasing through its markets, fighting its assets, destroying its sites, and bounded consequences from organizations it cares about.
Technology & manufacturersOrganizations and manufacturers give equipment families recognizable provenance, doctrine, and market identity.
Market contractsNPC orders can carry an issuing organization and may require a minimum standing before you can fill or purchase them.
Station operationAuthored stations can have an economic operator and organization presence. Some peaceful station access is explicitly standing-gated.
Combat & sitesFighting organization contacts or destroying authored sites changes concrete relationship history rather than granting abstract faction XP.
Political relationshipsA direct trade or combat action can create one-hop secondary support or hostility with organizations connected through the authored political graph.
Evidence & discoveryEncountering an organization, fighting its assets, and clearing its sites can add persistent evidence that later participates in discovery chains.

The Captain panel shows what your history has actually produced.

Known organization relationships are summarized as Hostile, Unwelcome, Neutral, Recognized, Trusted, or Esteemed, along with concrete reasons such as trade volume, supplied demand, combat victories, or sites destroyed. Some authored stations deny docking below their required standing, and some organization-backed market contracts require stronger standing than ordinary access.

You can care about an organization for practical reasons first.

You may first notice a group because it operates a station you need, issues a desirable schematic contract, builds excellent hardware, controls a hostile site, or reacts to someone you fought elsewhere. The lore gains weight because the organization was already mechanically present in your career.
