Your Captain

Your Captain is your persistent professional identity. Ships can be replaced, refitted, or specialized; the skills, attributes, engineering knowledge, and decisions you build on your Captain continue across the fleet.

Your Captain grows alongside the ship, not inside it.Captain development can continue while ships travel or work, letting your personal career progress on a different rhythm from your vessels.

Your Captain can train deliberately.

Captain development is independent from the ship's active work. You can study, train, condition, or recover while the ship continues an autonomous operation, unless combat commits you to battlestations.

Study Technical ManualsBuild Engineering, Manufacturing, Research, Intellect, and Focus.
Flight TrainingDevelop Piloting, Navigation, Coordination, Perception, and Focus.
Combat SimulatorPractice Gunnery, Command, Coordination, Focus, and Leadership. Requires an operational ship computer.
Physical ConditioningBuild Endurance and Coordination through a more physically demanding training cycle.
Analyze Survey DataImprove Science, Surveying, Research, Perception, Intellect, and Focus.
Command ReviewDevelop Command, Leadership, Focus, and Intellect.
Rest & RecoveryDeliberately lower fatigue and stress while the ship can continue autonomous work.

The Captain panel separates condition, progression, relationships, and expertise.

The live panel shows Health, Fatigue, Stress, and Readiness first, then exposes useful actions, organization Reputation & Access, Attributes, Proficiencies, and Manufacturing Expertise.

Real operations also develop the Captain.

Captain development is not limited to training cards. Ship operations award relevant professional progression naturally: extraction builds Industrial Operations, travel develops Navigation and Piloting, Science work develops scientific skills, and combat develops Gunnery and Command.

The Captain contributes across every career.

When the Captain is on command watch, their relevant skills and leadership contribute alongside Crew and ship systems. Current readiness can limit that contribution, while combat commits the Captain to battlestations. Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering also build a separate persistent engineering-knowledge hierarchy by discipline, specialization, and exact design.
